World Cup lai liao.

Word cup is around the corner,
i am not a football pundit but i have too much time to spend.
i am always a England football fans,
but i seriously dont think this is their year.

cause i dont think Capello had made clever choice.
i like this guy, cause he is tough,
but i am not convince by his choice.

here's his 23:

Goalkeepers:
Green, James, Haart
Defenders:
Johnson, Terry, King, Dawson, Carragher, Warnock, A.Cole, Upson
Midfielders:
Milner, Lampard, Gerrard, Lennon, Barry, Carrick, J.Cole, Wright-Phillips
Strikers:
Rooney, Heskey, Crouch, Defoe

i think Capello did some good choice, he brings back Carragher, who is a brilliant addition to the squad and he brings along Milner, who is verstile and capable to back up on right back and i ahve to prasie him for risking Phillips even though he is like a forgoten man in City, but i believe this little man have a lot to prove. and i have to praise him for dropping Walcott.

Walcott is a quick player, he can give u plenty of pace, but he lacks of football brain. i agreed.
you can run around like a headless chicken, but there's no point.

Why England can't do it?

Obviously, injuries. Injuries of Ferdinand, and Barry will be a massive disadvantage for England.
It weakends the core of the team, where you could not win a game with wingers and strikers.
u have to have a strong core in the centre of your team to link up you defense and attack.
i believe attack built up from defense, if your defense is weak, u will never have the ball up have front. cause it holds your entire team backward.

Secondly, Capello miss out some decent players. For example, Villian, Ashley Young. He is a left winger who had been brilliant throughout the whole season. He has pace, trickery, and his crosses are deadly..you need people who are able to do that to hold the oppsition backline down. but instead, Capello brings J.Cole, who miss almost entire season through injury.

In the front line, E.Heskey. Why no Zamora? you get a striker who play less than 15 matches this season and scores less then 3 times to the Word Cup, that's crazy. You may say he link up well with Rooney, but can this fellow deliver when Rooney is out? You depends your entire strike force on a single fellow and it's risky. Zamora is a different story. this guy has recover his scoring form, and he can hold ball like what heskey can do. and most importantly, he is someone who can do some body checking agaisnt defender. So, why do you left him in London?

Peter Crouch is a must, cause he brings different dimension to the team. (cause he is as tall as a basketball player) and Defoe, well, he scores goals and he is fast. good choice.

The lack of Dirty work in the middle of the park. well, Barry is out, Gerrard to pair with Lampard. NO way it's gonna work. both are players who are up front.eager to get up. who's going to do the dirty work to win the ball in the center of the park? no one! you cant win battle there, so, where is the attack? that's the roots.

Center back had been weaken by the injury of Ferdinand. U expect King to partner Terry. He is too slow (look at the Mexican Game). and he dont have much games experience together with Terry. there will be a lot of mistakes. Dawson is good. but i dun think he gel well with Terry. Caragher, well, he did some stupid mistake. Johnson and Cole will definately get up front often..so who is gonna deal with counter attack? no Barry, no Ferdinand..there is a hole!

Goalkeepers! well, England is the only team who goes into Word Cup without a comfirm numer 1. you cant do this all in a sudden. keepers must have understanding with their defenders. and without a number one, i believe the 3 keepers face phychology stress.

Lastly, English football have been commercialize. players get too much spotlight. everybody in the squad is saying stuff. like, we will win this, we will do that..that's unessasary. Brazil people dont talk much, Argie don't talk much ( except Maradona), Spanish dont talk much, and they play total football.

all players play in England, u will never win if u focus in one place. u need to have players who play outside, who will bring different aspect to your team. by the way, i think the hectic Schedule of English Football harm your superstars. you get pretty tired millionaires out there just like your players in the Japanese Match (thankx to Tulio the Samurai)

However, you will be in the Semis! that's improvement. =)

Here's my 23:
Goalkeepers:
James, Green, Haart (no choice liao)
Defenders:
Baines, A.Cole, Terry, Neville, Dawson, Johnson, Carragher, King
Midfielders:
Milner, Lampard, Barry, Gerrard, Young, Wright-Phillips, Huddlestone, Lennon
Strikers:
Zamora ( he is no longer Z row player), Rooney, Crouch, Defoe

Teams that may win the World Cup :
Germany : without Ballack, so what? they have great strikeforce and midfielders.
Spain: solid in everywhere. no Torres, no prob!

Why not......
Italy: too old, front line lack of fire power, Gillardino cant brign u to heaven.
Brazil: Too young.Missing of really experience players ( ronaldinho, Ronaldo)
France: Henry, where are you? Centre Mid is a weak spot. They dont click at all.
Argentina: This is not a popularity competition, Maradona.
South Africa: we just want your land.

that's my prediction, enjoy the world cup. god bless! =)
